Position:
Maintenance Technician - I, II, III, IV

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Coventry, RI - Onsite

Note: The current schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm. Flexibility, availability for overtime, on-call coverage and some night or weekend shift work will be required. Must be medically cleared to wear appropriate personal protective equipment – respirators, hearing protection, Tyvek suits, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Safely provide primarily proactive, but also reactive maintenance of all mechanical equipment and related process and facility assets.
  • Provide project mechanical support. Assist Project and Facilities Engineers in specifying and purchasing equipment and project installations and commissioning.
  • Execute the plant preventive maintenance program. Ensure maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance procedures are conducted safely, timely, and documented.
  • Assist other team members in maintenance and operations as needed.
Our ideal candidate
  • General mechanical trade use of hand and power tools.
  • Light welding and/or brazing.
  • Laser alignment of rotating shafts and related equipment.
  • Industrial lubrication technology, monitoring and analysis.
  • Knowledge of industrial rotating equipment (blowers, pumps, mechanical seals) including diagnostics and repair.
  • Industrial/commercial HVAC technical understanding, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Oracle, Maximo, SAP.
  • Familiar with OSHA, Environmental, Safety and Health regulations including LOTO and Hot Work permits.
  • Maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing or related industrial environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply complex SOPs and maintenance procedures.
  • Prior experience in regulated environments (FDA, DEA, NRC or similar).
  • Working knowledge of pumps, seals, HVAC systems, and related equipment; familiarity with pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in GMP environments and/or pharmaceutical equipment is highly desired.

Core competencies and skills can be demonstrated by certifications/licenses or demonstrated proficiency and expertise.

Additional qualifications
  • Experienced welder in TIG, MIG, plasma cutting, etc.
  • Pipe fitting and welding.
  • Rotating equipment maintenance and repair, including mechanical seals.
  • HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Utility equipment operations (boilers, chillers, etc.).
  • Steam and condensate systems, steam trap troubleshooting and repair.
Experience levels
  • Maintenance Technician I – Entry level, approx. 2-5 years of experience.
  • Maintenance Technician II – ~5-10 years, demonstrated SME in at least one skill.
  • Maintenance Technician III – ~10-20 years, SME in at least two skills.
  • Maintenance Technician IV – ~20+ years, SME in at least three skills, with leadership qualities.
