Job Summary
Coventry Respiratory & Rehabilitation seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to lead our Infection Prevention and Control Program. The Infection Control RN plans, implements, and monitors infection prevention practices to safeguard residents, staff, and visitors. The role offers consistent weekday hours, leadership responsibilities, participation in the weekend on‑call rotation, and a generous sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and oversee the facility’s infection prevention and control program.
- Conduct surveillance of healthcare‑associated infections, analyze trends, and report findings.
- Provide ongoing education and training for staff on infection control practices, PPE, isolation protocols, and hand hygiene.
- Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, and Rhode Island Department of Health regulations.
- Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate facility‑wide response plans.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, Respiratory Therapy team, and other leaders to reduce infection risks.
- Maintain documentation and prepare reports for QAPI.
- Participate in facility‑wide leadership activities, including the weekend on‑call rotation.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Rhode Island (in good standing).
- Previous infection prevention or infection control experience preferred.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent clinical knowledge of infection prevention protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Strong teaching, communication, and leadership skills.
- Long‑term care or rehabilitation experience highly desirable.
- Sign‑on bonus: $6,000 (Part‑time) | $12,000 (Full‑time)
