Management Accountant

The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join the finance team of a successful, growing business in Marlow. Working directly with the CFO, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, taking ownership of monthly management accounts while providing accurate financial reporting and valuable commercial insight to support business decisions.

This is a varied, hands-on position that would suit someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial SME environment and wants genuine responsibility, autonomy and exposure to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting. Manage month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations. Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. Monitor cash flow and prepare regular cash flow forecasts. Oversee purchase and sales ledger activities. Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Prepare and submit VAT returns. Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.

Assist the CFO with financial planning, reporting and analysis. Provide financial insight to support operational and commercial decision-making. Support project profitability reporting and cost analysis. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and internal controls. Assist with ad hoc finance projects as the business continues to grow. About You We’re looking for a proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being hands-on and working collaboratively within a growing business.

You’ll ideally have: ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified Previous experience in a Management Accountant position. Strong month-end accounting experience. Excellent Excel skills and confidence using accounting software. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. A positive, proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
