Purchase Ledger Manager

Purchase Ledger Manager required for a new permanent opportunity working for a well-established and successful business based in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on manager who enjoys leading a small team whilst ensuring the smooth running of a busy purchase ledger function. You will be responsible for managing a team of 3, overseeing the day-to-day purchase ledger operations, whilst also providing occasional support and cover for the payroll function when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing, supporting and developing a team of 3 purchase ledger staff.
- Overseeing the end-to-end purchase ledger process.
- Ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Managing supplier payments and statement reconciliations.
- Resolving supplier queries and discrepancies.
- Monitoring team performance and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Supporting month-end processes and reporting.
- Providing cover and support for payroll processing when required, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
About You
- Previous experience managing or supervising a purchase ledger team.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
- Some previous payroll experience, with the confidence to provide cover when needed.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with strong leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Good Excel skills and experience using accounting and payroll systems.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
