Overview
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Renal Service, in particular co-ordinating and controlling the provision of stores to home dialysis patients and the Renal Service, resolving issues, providing patient education, and ensuring smooth unit operations and data accuracy for optimal treatment and satisfaction. Also, assist in managing materials and stock across the Renal Medicine Service. We require a high standard of organisational skills in order to provide an efficient administrative service to the Peritoneal Dialysis Team and the wider service.

Main duties of the job- To co-ordinate and control the provision of supplies to CAPD dealing with queries from patients and staff as appropriate. And cover / support for the Renal Satellite units and other Renal areas.
- To arrange and monitor the provision of dialysis fluids and ancillaries to all home dialysis patients, liaising with relevant suppliers as appropriate and completing monthly therapy returns for home patients.
- To be the point of contact for all non-technical home dialysis enquiries, liaising between patients and trained staff and suppliers regarding regime changes, holiday queries and any other relevant enquiry.

- To monitor usage of access catheters for the ward and CAPD by raising non-stock requisitions as stock is used.
- To collect clinical statistics for the Renal Services on a weekly/monthly basis as appropriate.
- To undertake project work relating to the Renal Service as appropriate.
- To access, update and retrieve information from the Renal computer systems, EPR and Finance data systems, adhering to the Trust and National standards, policies and procedures at all times.
- Liaising with Healthcare professionals to obtain information.
- Attend meetings as requested, taking minutes as appropriate.
- Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of particular requests within defined guidelines.
- Collection of data and documents to form part of regular departmental audits.
- Make sound independent decisions to provide a quality service while coping with a demanding workload.
- Ensure that all Trust-wide standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of total care to all who come into contact with services provided by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
- Participate in appraisals and personal reviews and work to achieve agreed objectives.
- Undertake any other tasks as required by the Renal Admin Manager in accordance with the grade and nature of the post.
- Form an association with, and provide appropriate information to, all dialysis patients prior to commencement of Peritoneal dialysis in the home.
- Arrange and renew prescriptions for all CAPD patients and support for home haemodialysis patients as necessary.
- Arrange the delivery of CAPD fluid to holiday destinations, both at home and abroad. Liaising with UK Travel Teams and providing documents for overseas holidays.
