Position: Reception/ Admin

We're looking for a warm, adaptable and hard-working person to join our friendly practice team. This is a combined reception and administration role, so no two days are the same one day you're welcoming patients at the front desk, the next you're supporting a busy admin hub. If you enjoy variety and being genuinely helpful, we'd love to hear from you.

Main

duties of the job
  • Greeting patients and visitors with a friendly, professional face.
  • Supporting patients, carers and families to access appointments and services.
  • Offering reasonable adjustments for patients with a learning disability.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in line with GDPR and practice policies.

Administration & records

  • Keeping patient records and details accurate in EMIS.

Processing registrations, forms and out-of-area requests on time.

Managing changes of details and the flow of medical records.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our 12,000-patient admin/ Reception team at Moseley Avenue Surgery based in Coventry. The purpose of the post is to assist the team in the delivery of safe, high quality primary care services to our practice population. The post holder will work within clear parameters and lines of accountability after appropriate training and assessment of competence.

Job responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

Experience in customer service or admin, ideally in a healthcare or NHS setting.

Strong communication skills and a warm, professional manner.

Good organisation, time management and attention to detail.

Confident with EMIS and Microsoft Office, or quick to pick up new systems.

A solid understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, equality, diversity and patient safety.

A flexible, can-do attitude and a willingness to help wherever you're needed.

DESIRABLE

Previous experience as a GP receptionist or in primary care.

Knowledge of telephone triage and practice appointment systems.

Familiarity with hub-based administrative workflows.

Knowledge of Learning Disability Annual Health Checks and reasonable adjustments.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
