Shape the regulatory frameworks that support the future of our network
As our Regulation & Market Development Specialist, you'll play a key role in shaping how Cadent operates within current and future regulatory frameworks. This isn't just about compliance – it's about influencing change, developing innovative approaches and ensuring our business is well positioned for the evolving energy landscape.
This permanent role is based at Ansty Business Park, Coventry, where you'll sit within the Regulatory Strategy team and contribute to the development of regulatory and market frameworks that underpin the safe, efficient and commercially effective operation of our network. You'll support work that directly influences how revenue is recovered through developing charging methodologies for customers connecting and using the network, and how Cadent responds to future challenges such as decarbonisation, including biomethane, hydrogen and emerging energy systems.
You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and externally with bodies such as Ofgem and industry partners, providing insight, analysis and thought leadership to support strategic decision making and shape how the business recovers costs from customers.

- Regulatory or Energy Sector Experience – Understanding of regulatory frameworks, ideally within utilities or energy.
- Charging Methodology experience – Experience developing the rules for how we ensure fair and cost‑reflective charges to our customers.
- Analytical Capability – Ability to interpret complex data and regulatory developments and turn them into actionable insight.
- Communication Skills – Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Stakeholder Influence – Experience working with senior stakeholders and external bodies.
- Commercial Awareness – Understanding of pricing, charging frameworks or market structures (desirable).
- Adaptability – Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving regulatory environment.
