Executive Officer - DFE (Department of Education)
Location: Coventry or Darlington DfE offices
Hourly rate: £16.37 per hour

Hours:
3 days office / 2 days WFH. Full Time Monday to Friday - 37 hours p/w 9AM-5PM (CAN BE FLEXIBLE)
Length of assignment: Until 31 March 2027 with possibility of extension with good performance and client's need.
Brook Street in partnership with DfE has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Executive Officer. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable exposure and experience working within the Public Sector.
About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and organised Project Support Officer to join the Connect the Classroom (CtC) programme. You will support delivery of upgraded Wi‑Fi infrastructure across schools and help manage the £19m 2026/27 budget. You will manage a portfolio of schools and work with stakeholders to deliver improvements in education infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Manage schools from inception to completion, including monitoring and evaluation
- Support programme delivery and milestones
- Monitor risks and resolve issues
- Manage financial processes and review invoices with due diligence
- Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) for reporting and communication
- Maintain and update data within SharePoint and CRM platforms, supporting effective data management, reporting, and information accessibility
- Present project updates confidently
- Engage stakeholders and improve processes
- Travel may be required for meetings and/or away days
- Financial due diligence and invoice checking
- Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel) proficiency
- Confidence presenting to stakeholders
- Project delivery experience
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
