As our Strategy and Economics Specialist
, you'll play a key role in shaping how Cadent responds to the future energy landscape. This isn't just about analysis - it's about influencing strategy, informing decision making and helping position Cadent as a thought leader in the transition to Net Zero.
This is a permanent role
, where you'll provide robust economic, regulatory and market analysis to support the development of future energy strategies. You'll work across the business and with external stakeholders to develop insights, scenarios and frameworks that support the evolution of gas networks, including hydrogen, biomethane and hybrid energy systems.
You'll support high profile work influencing policy, regulatory frameworks and industry thinking, helping Cadent navigate complex challenges and opportunities in a rapidly changing environment.

- Energy or Regulatory Experience – Understanding of UK energy markets and regulated network environments.
- Strong Analytical Capability – Experience developing and using economic or financial models to inform decisions.
- Policy & Strategy Awareness – Understanding of regulatory frameworks and energy transition challenges.
- Communication Skills – Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, impactful insight.
- Stakeholder Confidence – Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including government or industry bodies.
- Innovative Thinking – Ability to develop creative solutions and forward thinking strategies.
- Delivery Focus – Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality outputs to tight timescales.
Qualifications:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Economics, Finance, Business or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and modelling capability
Interviews will be week commencing 13th July and will be held at our head office at Ansty business park.
