Innovation Technical Expert

Role Overview

Severn Trent is looking for an Innovation Technical Expert at Level 2 (Technical Expert) under a full‑time contract. The role supports the company’s innovation strategy by delivering technology or process solutions that are feasible, viable, scalable, and address business challenges.

• Collaborate with architects to scope projects and transform scopes into technical trials.
• Ensure trials demonstrate effectiveness, feasibility, viability, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
• Work with cross‑departmental teams to deliver projects to required standards and outcomes.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders, secure buy‑in, and drive continuous improvement.
• Embed innovative solutions into real site environments, leveraging operational and site experience.
• Operate independently, exercising initiative while contributing to a high‑performing team and upholding Severn Trent values.
• Lead personal and team development through knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear technical reports, briefings, presentations, and business cases.
• Strong analytical ability to understand large, complex data sets and translate insights into tangible outputs.
• Evidence of experience or qualification in chemical and biological processes, or an equivalent technical domain.
• Proven influencing skills at all levels of the business.
• Capacity for independent work, initiative, and teamwork within a safety‑first environment.
