Our Mells site is central to success, defined by a fantastic team and a commitment to high standards. We are seeking an inspiring, forward-thinking Operations Manager to join the site leadership team and help drive the manufacturing site into its next chapter.
Responsibilities- Partner with the Site Operations Manager to drive site operational activities, compliance, SHEQ, and continuous improvement.
- Lead from the front by balancing strategic planning with site-wide engagement; analyse production processes to streamline efficiency and elevate standards.
- Develop a performance-driven culture centered on ownership, accountability, and transparency.
- Engage and mentor colleagues to foster a proactive, safety-first mindset and to empower development.
- Provide effective change leadership to bring diverse teams along in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of two years’ experience leading teams within a medium to large, automated industrial manufacturing environment; experience in a unionised setting is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and housekeeping standards; IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate is highly desirable.
- Experience managing budgets, CAPEX programmes, and delivering capital projects.
- Data-driven with strong analytical skills and a solid grasp of OEE to drive decisions and measure performance.
- Agile, time-bound approach to work aligned with business and customer needs.
- Collaborative, proactive leadership style with ability to communicate at all levels, resolve issues constructively, and build customer confidence.
- Experience with lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., DMAIC) is a bonus.

Our operations are organised into three divisions:
Landscape Products, Building Products, and Roofing Products. Marshalls Landscape Products leads in natural stone and concrete hard landscaping. Marshalls Building Products provides concrete drainage products, bricks, mortars, and aggregates. Marley Roofing Products offers pitched roofing systems and related accessories.
