University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to join its Programme Management Office (PMO).

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive and highly motivated project management professional to support the delivery of strategic projects within an NHS environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to ensure projects are planned, delivered and monitored effectively.

Job Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will support the planning and delivery of small- and medium-sized projects and contribute to strategic programmes across the Trust.

The role requires excellent communication, organisational and project management skills, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet demanding deadlines.

You will work with a wide range of professionals and stakeholders to ensure project objectives, milestones and expected benefits are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Support the delivery of small and medium-sized projects within an acute hospital environment.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage multiple projects or work streams simultaneously.
  • Work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor project plans using appropriate project management tools and templates.
  • Track project progress and ensure key activities and milestones are delivered on time.
  • Identify, document and monitor project risks and issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Monitor project action plans and ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Support the identification and monitoring of project benefits.
  • Prepare and maintain formal project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with change management and adapt project deliverables when circumstances change.
  • Support the development of policies, procedures and other project-related documentation.
  • Communicate complex information clearly and

  • Work effectively under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Contribute to the effective management and administration of project resources.

Qualifications

  • Relevant knowledge and experience in project management.

  • Proven experience of successfully delivering projects.
  • Experience supporting project documentation, administration and communications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with both clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • The ability to work collaboratively to resolve project delivery challenges.
  • Experience developing and delivering information or training to people with different levels of project management knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
