Senior Consultant, Corporate Governance

Overview
We know the role as a Senior Consultant, you may know it as a Company Secretary.  You’ll be working within the MUFG Corporate Governance team, a part of MUFG Corporate Markets, a division of MUFG Pension & Market Services.  The MUFG Corporate Governance team is one of the largest company secretarial providers in the UK and is well-known for its expertise in corporate governance advisory services and company secretarial administration.
As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering company secretarial services and corporate governance advice to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from companies listed on the Main Market and AIM, to unlisted private companies.  And ensuring service excellence in line with agreed timescales and internal processes.  You will also act as a key point of contact for technical queries, while proactively contributing to the commercial success of our business.  

The MUFG Corporate Governance team is embracing new technology such as AI, so this is an exciting time to join us.
This role may offer opportunities for client secondments, so a flexible and open approach to this would be important.
You will be based from either our city centre office in Leeds or our central London office on a hybrid basis.  This means you’ll need to be within a commutable distance to ensure you can be in the office each week with your colleagues.

As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it’s the right role for you too.  You will need:

• To be CGI qualified (ACG – Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute),

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders and strong client facing and relationship management skills

• Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent organisational and project management skills

• Demonstrable company secretarial experience in the UK, including extensive knowledge of UK company law, the UK Listing Rules and best practice

• The capability of operating in the Board Room, with excellent minute taking skills and extensive experience in drafting accurate and comprehensive minutes

• An ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing conflicting deadlines

• Commercial awareness and a desire to work within a professional services environment, with a broad understanding of this model, preferably with experience of working within such an environment
