Planning and Scheduling Analyst

Turning plans into delivery through insight, coordination and performance management

We're looking for a Planning and Scheduling Analyst to join our team and play a key role in shaping and maintaining delivery plans that support both our operational objectives and regulatory commitments.

This role sits at the centre of the planning cycle, working closely with Operational Planning and Operational Delivery teams to translate long-term workload forecasts into practical, deliverable plans. You'll use data and local knowledge to help balance resources, monitor performance and keep delivery plans realistic, achievable and focused on customer outcomes.

• Shape how work is delivered by turning long-term workload forecasts into practical plans that support both operational priorities and customer needs.
• Use data to drive decisions by analysing performance trends, tracking delivery against targets and supporting recovery plans where required.
• Influence operational performance by identifying opportunities to improve productivity, resource utilisation and overall delivery outcomes.
• Work across the business with planning, scheduling and operational teams to ensure plans remain achievable, balanced and aligned to priorities.
• Support great customer outcomes by helping create plans that deliver the right work at the right time while meeting customer expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement through the development of standard operating procedures and improved planning and scheduling practices.
• Share your expertise by supporting colleagues, promoting best practice and helping drive consistency across planning activities.
• Make a real difference by helping the business deliver against its plans, regulatory commitments and customer expectations.

• Planning and analytical experience – Experience using data, plans and schedules to support operational delivery within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills – Ability to analyse information, identify trends and use data to support effective decision-making.
• Resource planning knowledge – Understanding of how workloads, resources and priorities can be balanced to support efficient delivery.
• Excellent communication skills – Able to build positive relationships and work effectively with operational teams, stakeholders and customers.
• System and technical capability – Comfortable working with Microsoft Office applications and operational systems such as SAP, Click Software or similar planning tools.
• Process improvement mindset – Experience developing, documenting or improving business processes and ways of working.
• Coaching and influencing skills – Ability to support colleagues, encourage process compliance and promote best practice across teams.
• Attention to detail and organisation – Strong focus on maintaining accurate plans, managing multiple priorities and ensuring prerequisites are in place before work is handed over for delivery.

This role plays an important part in making sure work is planned effectively and delivered efficiently across the network. Working closely with planning and operational colleagues, you'll help create achievable plans, adapt to changing priorities and support the successful delivery of work for our customers.
