This is a site and delivery-focused sustainability role supporting live construction projects in the UK. You will work closely with project and site teams to ensure environmental, sustainability, and certification commitments are delivered throughout the construction phase.
The role is hands‑on and operational, ideal for someone looking to step up their responsibility on live projects and build long‑term experience across compliance, certification, and ESG delivery.
Key Responsibilities Project & Site Compliance- Support assigned construction projects as the sustainability point of contact
- Provide day‑to‑day environmental and sustainability advice to site teams
- Undertake regular site inspections to ensure environmental compliance and best practice
- Support the discharge of planning conditions, sustainability KPIs, and client requirements
- Prepare and maintain site documentation including CEMPs, environmental reports, and incident response plans
- Support delivery of certifications such as BREEAM, LEED, or WELL
- Assist with managing certification trackers and collecting supporting evidence
- Liaise with consultants, assessors, and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met
- Identify and flag risks to achieving sustainability or certification targets
- Assist with monthly sustainability reporting to project teams
- Support client and consultant meetings where required
- Contribute to internal sustainability training and knowledge sharing
- Help embed sustainability objectives into day‑to‑day construction activities
- Support implementation of wider ESG and environmental strategies on site
- Assist with improving environmental management systems and processes
- Degree or equivalent qualification in environmental, sustainability, or related discipline
- Experience supporting sustainability or environmental compliance on construction projects
- Good understanding of construction site processes and environmental controls
- Exposure to sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, LEED, or WELL
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with site teams and consultants
- Strong organisational and reporting skills
- BREEAM Associate / Accredited Professional
- ISO
14001 awareness or internal auditor experience - Experience working for a main contractor
- Strong development role with clear progression opportunities
- Exposure to major construction projects and experienced project teams
- Competitive salary up to £60k plus package
