Contracts Manager – Facilities Management

Location:

Coventry, with travel across the Midlands and UK

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus car allowance

Contract:

Permanent, full-time

The Opportunity

An established and growing facilities management business is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a varied portfolio of commercial maintenance, refurbishment and property-improvement projects. You will take ownership of multiple live contracts from initial instruction through to completion, coordinating labour, subcontractors, materials, schedules and client requirements. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced SME, requiring someone who can make confident decisions, resolve problems quickly and keep projects moving when priorities change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing multiple FM, maintenance and refurbishment projects from start to finish
  • Planning schedules, labour, subcontractors, materials and equipment
  • Monitoring progress through regular site visits
  • Identifying risks, delays and resource issues, taking prompt corrective action
  • Reallocating labour and reprioritising workloads when required
  • Managing clients, project updates, variations, costs and budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with RAMS, health and safety and company procedures
  • Working closely with operational, administration and coordination teams
About You
  • You will have previous experience as a Contracts Manager or Project Manager within facilities management, commercial maintenance, refurbishment, building services or construction.
  • Experience managing several live projects or sites
  • Strong scheduling, organisation and resource‑planning skills
  • Confident decision‑making and practical problem‑solving ability
  • Experience managing direct labour, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of RAMS and site health and safety
  • A full UK driving licence
