Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water
Location: Coventry
Salary: Up to £80,000 + package
Working Pattern: 3 days per week office/site based
Ganymede Solutions are working in partnership with a leading organisation to recruit experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to support a major long-term investment programme within the UK water sector.
The successful candidates will be seconded into Severn Trent, joining an established client-side commercial team responsible for supporting the delivery of a significant portfolio of capital works across the Midlands.
This represents an excellent opportunity for experienced infrastructure Quantity Surveyors looking for a long-term position with exposure to one of the UK's largest water infrastructure programmes.
The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial and contractual management across a portfolio of projects, supporting delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Commercial and contractual management of projects under NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
- Cost control, forecasting and budget management
- Assessment of contractor applications and payment valuations
- Working closely with Project Managers and delivery teams
- Management and negotiation of compensation events and project change
- Reviewing Defined Cost and supporting commercial decision making
- Procurement and tender evaluation
- Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risk
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting
- Supporting the resolution of contractual issues and claims
- Managing projects through to final account
- Building effective relationships with contractors and key stakeholders
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where required
We are looking for experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors with a strong infrastructure background and good knowledge of NEC contracts.
You will ideally have:
- Strong NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract experience
- Experience working across major infrastructure or capital delivery projects
- Strong cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting experience
- Experience managing change and compensation events
- Good understanding of procurement, valuations and final accounts
- Experience with in Water, Utilities, Civil Engineering, Rail or another infrastructure environment
- Previous client-side experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- A degree or equivalent qualification within Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Previous water sector experience would be beneficial, although candidates with strong transferable infrastructure experience will also be considered.
