An exciting opportunity has arisen in Coventry for an experienced Estimator to join a growing building and construction business where you will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders, producing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the successful delivery of residential and commercial projects.

Description

The Estimator will:

Prepare accurate cost estimates from drawings, specifications and scope documentation.
Complete detailed quantity take-offs for materials, labour and equipment.
Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Produce tender submissions, budgets and cost plans.
Support pre-construction planning, risk analysis and value engineering activities.
Collaborate with internal design, production and project management teams to validate project costs.
Monitor and review project costs against original estimates.
Prepare bid proposals and tender documentation.
Maintain and update costing databases in line with market rates.
Monitor tender portals and identify new business opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships across the supply chain.
Support bid writing activities to maximise tender success rates.

Profile

A successful Estimator should have:

At least five years' experience in an Estimator role within the UK building and construction sector.
Experience preparing tenders and managing bid documentation.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and cost drivers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software such as CostX, Bluebeam, Buildertrend or similar.
Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience with in modular or off-site construction would be advantageous.
A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial.
