Theatr na nÓg is launching an exciting new opportunity for five Welsh or Wales-based playwrights to spend two days with Theatr na nÓg to discover more about the company’s award-winning project for their schools’ audience.
This is a paid opportunity aimed at those who would like to create theatre which encapsulates our core values – Joy, People and Wonder.
We are looking for playwrights with a strong individual voice, an interest in creating work for children aged 8–11, and a willingness to collaborate in developing new theatre for schools.
Applicants should have had at least
one professional credit as a writer
(see information pack for details). Our aim is to create new collaborations, celebrate this vital and ambitious work and ultimately commission new scripts specifically for this audience.
Workshop Dates: Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 October 2026
Venue: Dylan Thomas Theatre, Swansea and Theatr na nÓg, Neath
