We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hard-working clinical fellow (equivalent to ST4 or above) in Nutrition and Intestinal Failure at University Hospital of Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust. This 12‑month role offers the chance to work within a thriving multidisciplinary nutrition team in a large Intestinal Failure centre that provides Type 2 and 3 IF care to patients across the West Midlands.
The post can be tailored to your training needs but focuses on inpatient and outpatient management of patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
- Manage inpatients with Types 1, 2 and 3 intestinal failure.
- Review patients on home parenteral support in the outpatient clinic.
- Assess and manage patients requiring enteral nutrition support.
- Work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary nutrition team.
- Attend the weekly IF MDT, IBD MDT and monthly Nutrition Steering Committee.
- Gain general gastroenterology experience, including clinics and endoscopy training lists.
- Participate in audit, research and national Intestinal Failure initiatives.
- Benefit from educational supervision and postgraduate teaching programmes.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council and eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
- MRCP (UK) qualification and experience in gastroenterology.
- Completion of or current undertaking of the Gastroenterology registrar training programme.
- Participation in UHCW Improvement (UHCWi) lean management training (e.g. Lean for Leaders, Advanced Lean Training, Human Factors Programme). Full attendance and completion of identified courses are essential for this post.
- Full GMC registration and eligibility for the Specialist Register.
- MRCP (UK) and experience in gastroenterology.
- Completion of or current undertaking of the Gastroenterology registrar training programme.
