Overview

Applications are open for a HPB Senior Clinical Fellow who wishes to gain experience in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgery. The role would be suitable for a senior trainee as is for amaximum of five months.

Responsibilities
  • The Senior Clinical Fellow will be expected to manage Pre and post op patients.
  • The Senior Clinical Fellow will be encouraged to publish and present at local and international meetings in HPB.
  • Modular HPB cases hands on training (STU) for both benign and malignant conditions.
  • Cross site case observations.
  • Undertake a 1:18 on-call rota to support emergency care.
  • In addition to HPB registrar work, the duties of the post include providing senior cover for HPB patients, attending theatre/outpatient sessions and care of admitted General Surgical patients.
  • There is a commitment to the acute general surgical rota (commensurate with experience).
  • The appointed candidate will be expected to carry out a degree of clinical work (clinics) independently.
  • There is access to modern imaging (CT PET), Endoscopy (ERCP and EUS) and robotics on single site.
  • The Senior Clinical Fellow is expected to develop operative skills in robotic surgery and judgement in the care of such patients through the full spectrum of the specialty.
