This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative pathology team, using advanced digital pathology technology to report a diverse range of routine and complex cases. Whether based at one of our UK laboratories in Warwick or Newmarket, or working remotely, you'll have access to a supportive network of colleagues and opportunities to share knowledge, discuss challenging cases and continue developing your expertise.
Whatyou'll be doing:
- Produce high-quality histopathology reports from digital histology whole slide images (WSIs), working to agreed daily quotas and turnaround times.
- Report a range of cases, including adjunctive testing such as histochemical stains, PARR clonality testing and immunohistochemistry.
- Work directly with submitting clinicians, responding to queries and providing guidance around sampling and reports.
- Take part in pathology discussions, including journal clubs, cytology-histology rounds and case reviews.
- Support and develop the histology laboratory team through training, SOP development, guidance on complex sample trimming and internal QA/QC.
- Maintain professional standards through ongoing CPD and relevant board-certification requirements.
- Contribute to research, teaching, education, business development and marketing initiatives that support the continued development of our laboratory service.
- The expected minimum workload is 40 tissues per 8-hour working day, with a strong focus on maintaining both efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.
- Recognised degree in Veterinary Medicine with MRCVS registration.
- Board certification (ACVP/ECVP), RCPath (Veterinary Pathology), or board eligible.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload.
- Experience working with digital pathology systems.
- At least 3 years' experience in diagnostic pathology.
- Familiarity with dictation software (e.g Dragon) and Microsoft Office.
