APT Education is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Support Specialist to work with pupils in a Coventry primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and challenging behaviour, helping them to thrive in a safe, inclusive learning environment.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ADHD, ASC, SEMH, and complex behavioural needs
* Implement behaviour management strategies that promote positive engagement and emotional regulation
* Support pupils with communication difficulties, including non‑verbal learners and those with EAL needs
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to adapt lessons and track pupil progress
* Assist with personal care routines where required, ensuring dignity and safeguarding at all times
* Champion inclusion and resilience, helping pupils build confidence and independence
👤 Candidate Requirements
* Experience working with challenging behaviour is essential
* GCSEs in English and Maths are essential
* Proven experience supporting pupils with ADHD, ASC, SEMH, and complex SEN needs
* Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques
* Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to working with primary‑age pupils
* Enhanced DBS and references (APT Education will support with compliance)
* A genuine passion for supporting pupils of primary age and helping them succeed
