SEN Teaching Assistant – Coventry (January Start, Full-Time)

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role in Coventry? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a Primary SEN Unit this January, supporting pupils with a wide range of needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

About the Role

This is a full-time position working in a specialist SEN classroom where learning is continuous throughout the day. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with:

* Autism (ASC)

* ADHD

* Behavioural needs

* Physically challenging behaviour

* Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)

* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

* Communication needs, including the use of Makaton

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions, create a safe and engaging learning environment, and help pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with diverse SEN needs.

* Use strategies such as Makaton, visual aids, and assistive technology to enhance communication.

* Support behaviour management using positive and proactive approaches.

* Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and ensure inclusion.

* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and families to track progress and share strategies.

* Promote independence, confidence, and emotional regulation in pupils.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

* Proven experience working with pupils in a UK Primary or SEN school.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

* A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them thrive.

* Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and adapting to individual learning profiles.

* Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
