Job Description & How to Apply Below
Some pupils need calm routines, steady encouragement, and an adult who helps school feel safe enough to manage the day. If you have classroom-based experience supporting pupils with additional needs and you are looking for a full-time, long-term role where consistency really matters, this could be the right next step.

We work with primary, secondary, and specialist schools that prioritise stability. These settings are looking for teaching assistants who can commit to a full-time placement, build trust over time, and become a familiar, reliable presence in the classroom. You will be part of the daily rhythm of the school, supporting pupils through lessons, transitions, and moments of challenge, while noticing the small signs of progress that come with patience and routine.

This is not short-term or ad hoc work. Schools are specifically seeking teaching assistants who want a long-term role where they can develop their skills and make a sustained impact.

Responsibilities

* Provide in-class support to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs throughout the school day.

* Help maintain predictable classroom routines so pupils feel settled and ready to learn.

* Follow individual support plans and use calm, consistent strategies to support regulation and behaviour.

* Work 1 to 1 and with small groups within the classroom to support engagement, confidence, and wellbeing.

* Share observations with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support joined-up decision making.

* Model positive behaviour and support healthy relationships within the classroom environment.

Requirements

* At least 6 months’ classroom-based experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or additional needs.

* Experience working in a school setting, supporting learning and behaviour during lessons and structured activities.

* A calm, consistent approach and the ability to build trust with pupils over time.

* Confidence supporting pupils both individually and in small groups within a classroom.

* Willingness to follow school guidance around behaviour support, regulation strategies, and safeguarding.

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

What We Offer

* Full-time, long-term placements that provide stability and routine.

* Support from a specialist SEND consultant who understands SEMH settings.

* Access to training and CPD to help you grow your skills and confidence.

* Opportunities to build meaningful experience for future careers in education, psychology, or therapy.

Why Sprint

If you are looking for short-term or flexible supply work, this will not be the right fit. If you want a full-time, long-term classroom role where you can build strong relationships and see the impact of consistency over time, that is exactly what we offer.
