This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require specialist teaching and support.

As a SEN Teacher, you will work in small class sizes, allowing you to provide personalised education that meets the individual needs of each student. Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with complex SEN.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Work closely with the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), other teachers, and support staff to ensure personalised learning plans are followed.
  • Support students with both academic and personal development, helping them to build key life skills.
  • Implement and monitor progress against individual education plans (IEPs) and set achievable learning goals for each student.
  • Promote positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional well‑being.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure that each student's needs are being met effectively.
  • Maintain a high standard of classroom management and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Participate in the school's CPD (Continuous Professional Development) programme to enhance your skills and knowledge in the area of special education.
The Ideal Candidate :
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching.
  • A strong understanding of complex needs (e.g. autism spectrum disorder, physical disabilities, sensory impairments).
  • Experience in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and using differentiated teaching strategies.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting students to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication skills, both with students and in collaborating with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Experience of using assistive technologies and alternative communication methods would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and best practices in SEN education.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
Why Join Us?
  • A supportive and inclusive school environment, where every member of staff is valued and encouraged to develop.
  • The opportunity to work with small class sizes, enabling a more personalised and focused approach to teaching.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience.
  • A dedicated and friendly team of professionals committed to making a difference.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training in special educational needs.
  • The chance to work in a school that prides itself on its commitment to the inclusion and well‑being of all students.
