We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team at a SEN school in Coventry, known for supporting students with challenging behaviours. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about special education and youth development, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in a specialised educational setting.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of daily lessons alongside the lead teacher, tailored to meet the needs of students with special educational needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Provide one-on-one support and manage small group interventions to help students achieve their individual learning goals.
  • Monitor and support the progress and development of students, both academically and behaviourally.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to enhance your skills as a Teaching Assistant and Youth Worker.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Youth Worker, particularly in a SEN setting dealing with challenging behaviours.
  • Strong understanding of the strategies needed to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and patient approach to educational and behavioural support.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
