Overview
We offer flexible working hours with sessions taking place within Term Time only. An extensive CPD programme is completely free. Tutors receive support from a team of experienced educators and may become our "Tutor of the week." We aim to put pupils first with a flexible and creative approach to education.
Session DeliveryYour sessions are in-person 1:1 or small groups up to 4 pupils. When a new referral arrives, you decide whether to support that pupil. Consistency and routine are key – we ask that you stay with the pupil. Most pupils require support in Maths and English, presented in an adaptable, engaging and fun way. You may create activities supported by the team and adjust your approach to meet the pupil’s needs.
Time& Location
Sessions typically run between 08:30 and 16:30 during term time, at the school, pupil’s home, or an agreed public venue such as a library or family centre. Locations depend on each individual assignment.
PupilsWe work with pupils aged 11‑16, including children in care, those with special educational needs, and those requiring additional support.
ResourcesYou will have access to a catalogue of internal resources and printables, plus materials from Twinkl and BKSB. Online delivery is possible with MS Teams or Bramble, though it is rare.
Hours & PayAs an agency worker, you are paid per hour of tutoring delivered. 1:1 sessions range from £26–£30 p/h and group assignments 30–40 p/h. Travel beyond a reasonable distance is compensated with a higher hourly rate.
ReportingComplete a timesheet and detailed reports by Friday each week for each pupil. Documents are shared via Google Drive on your Chalkline email. If self‑employed, send an invoice at week’s end; otherwise only the timesheet and report are required.
