What is the job role?We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team.
Job OverviewTo provide a complementary service to that provided by teachers and support staff in order to address the needs of children who need help and support to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside school in order to achieve their full potential. By doing so the Person will contribute to the work of the Academy in raising standards of attainment, improving attendance, reducing exclusions and maintaining good standards of behaviour.
Whoare we looking for?
The right candidate will have:
- GCSE English and Maths grade C or above
- Experience of working with children within an educational setting and of working with families and social agencies
- An understanding of the challenges facing young people from a disadvantaged community
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues appropriately, responding to a range of perspectives and experiences without being judgemental
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work effectively with teachers and senior managers in school
As a Pastoral Support Assistant within Radford Primary Academy, you’ll be able to make a key difference to a pupil’s educational experience as a crucial part of the wider team, and you will have the opportunity to develop your skillset with key training and development opportunities available.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre‑employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.
