About The Role
This role provides an opportunity for an experienced practitioner to lead the provision of a subject specialist input to the University’s highly regarded Initial Teacher Education programmes. The successful candidate will help shape the subject pedagogy for beginning teachers on our local and international courses.
The role will also allow you to contribute to wider course provision through teaching on the Professional Enquiry and Professional Practice modules, marking of academic work and selecting PGCE applicants.
All colleagues in the Centre for Teacher Education participate in a regular programme of professional development and peer learning, and the post offers further development opportunities across the University.
Qualifications- Experience teaching Geography, Music, Drama, Business Studies, Design Technology or Social Sciences at the secondary level.
- Ability to model good teaching practices for others.
- Experience of mentoring and teacher education in a school or university context.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in university and classroom settings.
- Excellent time‑management and self‑management to handle a complex portfolio of work.
- Willingness to develop a strong understanding of research in education and apply it to professional teaching practice.
