Outreach Tutor - Term Time

Overview

If you are a passionate, patient and creative Teacher, Tutor or TA with teaching qualifications and experience with SEN learners, we want to hear from you! As an outreach Tutor for Chalkline, you will be considered an agency worker. There is no need to register as self‑employed, but if you prefer it that way, we can still work with you.

• Adapt your approach to the individual learner and develop rapport with children and young people to support them in a way that works for them.
• Use your excellent understanding of SEND, strong behaviour‑management skills and proactive attitude to deliver tutoring and support sessions.
• Support children and ensure that information is retained before the end of each session.
• Work within the allotted time, typically school‑time hours (08:30‑16:00) and term time, with assignments ranging from several hours in one day to an hour a day depending on pupil needs.
• Complete a timesheet and details reports each week for each pupil you work with.

• Teaching qualifications and experience with SEN learners.
• Excellent understanding of SEND.
• Strong behaviour‑management skills and proactive attitude.
• Good base level of Maths and English to support children in these subjects.
• Additional experience or skills such as Makaton, MAPA/Team Teach, autism awareness training is advantageous.

• Agency worker status with pay per hour of tutoring delivered.
• No additional contribution for resources, admin time or travel; assignments set within a reasonable travel distance.
• Support with planning sessions and printable resources for all tutors.
• Bonus schemes for tutors who consistently exceed expected standards.
