Assistant Professor (Teaching Focused) (Community Lead)

Location: University of Warwick Campus, Coventry

Department: Warwick Medical School – Applied Health

Position Type: Permanent

Hours: 22.55 hours per week (0.7 FTE)

About the Role

The graduate‑entry MBChB programme at Warwick Medical School is the largest in the UK. Early patient exposure is integral to our curriculum, beginning with community‑based first‑year experiences. As Lead for Community Education you will support this initiative by delivering teaching, coordinating with NHS trusts and community groups, and facilitating learning opportunities in community settings.

  • Deliver community‑based teaching sessions and case discussions.
  • Design and develop educational interventions for students.
  • Liaise with GP teams, NHS trusts, and local community organisations.
  • Facilitate community learning and palliative care teaching in the second year.
  • Collaborate with senior faculty to integrate community experience into the curriculum.

Skilled Worker visa sponsorship will only be possible in specific circumstances due to the 0.7 FTE salary.

About You

We are looking for an allied health professional with experience in community practice. Requirements include:

  • First‑degree level education.
  • Experience designing and delivering educational programmes.
  • Previous work in community-based allied health settings.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
