What is the job role?
Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Whitley Abbey Primary School, providing support across classes in a range of subjects and activities.
Key responsibilities- Provide classroom and practical classroom support to teachers and pupils.
- Cover classes across the school as required.
- Maintain an organised and flexible approach to support learning and daily classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, colleagues and parents.
- Passion and commitment to teaching and early years education.
- Demonstrable experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or similar role.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organised and flexible working style.
- Enhanced DBS check, all relevant safeguarding and pre‑employment clearances, and two satisfactory references.
- Compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) safeguarding requirements and a pre‑employment online search may be conducted.
Fixed term, 1 year, full time, 37 hours per week, contract start September 2026 for the 2026/2027 academic year.
