Specialist 1:1 Outreach Tutor - Coventry

As an Outreach Tutor, you will create, plan and deliver tailored 1:1 lessons to bridge gaps in a pupil's education while promoting engagement, confidence and attainment. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher seeking to deliver personalised learning outside of a mainstream classroom.

We are seeking a tutor with experience teaching Year 5 KS2 English, together with specialist knowledge of Makaton, British Sign Language (BSL), supporting hearing‑impaired pupils, and working with pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor progress and support positive learning outcomes.

• Location – Within the community or pupil's home in Coventry
• Position – 1:1 Outreach Tutor
• Type of work – Contract
• Start date – ASAP
• Duration – Until the pupil reintegrates into a school placement
• End date (if applicable) – Ongoing
• Contract type – Temporary
• Full‑time/Part‑time – Part‑time (15 hours per week, per pupil)
• Minimum rate of pay – £22+ per hour
• Hours – Flexible, based on the family's availability

• QTS or equivalent
• UK classroom teaching experience
• Experience teaching Year 5 KS2 English
• Experience using Makaton and/or BSL
• Experience supporting hearing‑impaired and EAL pupils
• Experience working with SEND or disengaged learners
• A creative, patient and adaptable approach

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
• Provide two professional child‑related references
