Performing Arts Technician – Bablake School
Maternity Cover – 1 Year fixed term
Required: 1st October 2026
Salary:
Grade 5 (£23,316 - £27,538)
This role is advertised on an annualised hours basis, full time (35 hrs/week). Hours will be notified on a half‑termly basis. Flexibility is essential – support evening and weekend performances, commercial bookings, and cross‑site work across all Foundation sites.
About the SchoolBablake is a vibrant school supported by a diverse and enthusiastic community of staff, pupils, parents and alumni. Performing Arts is a significant part of school life, encompassing both Music and Drama across junior and senior schools, with two major senior show performances per year, plus junior shows and musical performances each half‑term.
Responsibilities- Work with young people in a pupil‑facing role.
- Run a Technician Club to develop future set design, lighting and sound technicians.
- Support production work for senior and junior shows.
- Assist with commercial bookings.
- Work evenings and weekends as required for performances and bookings.
- Experience in performing arts technology (lighting, sound, set design) preferred.
- Must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, DBS and overseas police checks if necessary.
- Ability to work across all Foundation sites.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends.
