About the RoleKing Henry VIII School is seeking an outstanding Careers Adviser to lead and deliver a high‑quality, forward‑thinking careers programme. This pivotal role supports students across the school in navigating key transition points and helping them realise their aspirations with confidence and clarity.
Working as part of the Coventry School Foundation, King Henry’s provides contemporary education for girls and boys across the West Midlands. Located near Coventry railway station, the diverse inclusive community is committed to the wellbeing of every young person.

Responsibilities- Provide engaging one‑to‑one careers guidance to students, especially Years 11 and VI Form.
- Support students in making informed choices at key transition points – GCSE, A Level, university, and alternative pathways.
- Guide students through application processes, including UCAS, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
- Deliver careers education as part of the PSHE programme and contribute to wider enrichment opportunities.
- Organise visits, events and partnerships with universities, employers, other external organisations, conferences and career shows.
- Maintain and develop strong links with industry and higher education providers.
- Support the Sixth Form team in delivering high‑quality UCAS and apprenticeship processes, advising on current developments.
- Provide tailored advice for students pursuing competitive pathways, including apprenticeships and specialist routes.
- Raise awareness of careers provision through events such as parents’ evenings, assemblies and open events.
- Track and analyse student destinations to inform strategic development of the careers programme.
- Lead the ongoing development of the school’s careers provision, ensuring it reflects best practice and innovation.
