QTS Tutor - Coventry

As a QTS Tutor, you will create, plan, and deliver tailored 1:1 lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education, boost engagement, and improve attainment levels.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced teacher looking to step away from the classroom and deliver personalised learning that makes a real difference. You will support pupils with a range of needs, including those with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs, medical needs, school refusal, or those who are currently out of education.

Many of the pupils you will work with may have missed significant periods of education and require patient, creative, and flexible support to help rebuild their confidence and re-engage with learning. Your role will be to provide high-quality teaching that is tailored to each individual's needs while helping establish positive learning routines.

Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor each pupil's progress and provide ongoing support throughout your placement.

  • Location: Within the community or the pupil's home in Coventry and surrounding areas

  • Position: QTS Tutor

  • Full-time/Part-time: Flexible (part-time and full-time opportunities available)

  • Minimum Rate of Pay: £22+ per hour (dependent on experience and subject)

  • Hours: Flexible working hours arranged around the pupil and family's availability

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Previous UK classroom teaching experience
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH, or those who are disengaged from education is desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Creative, patient, adaptable, and able to deliver engaging, personalised lessons
  • Ability to differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs
To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
