Primary Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a full‑time, long‑term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young learners thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEND.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Support the use of assistive technology and adapted learning resources.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive well‑being.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Participate in team meetings, safeguarding procedures, and ongoing professional development.

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service.
• Availability to work full‑time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
