Position: SEND Specialist Support

SEN Specialist Support Assistant - September Start!

Hours:

8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)

We are looking for a committed SEN Specialist support assistant who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them thrive both academically and personally.

A SEND provision in Coventry is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be confident supporting students across the curriculum, focused on encouraging progress, and dedicated to creating a positive learning environment where every student can succeed.

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and meaningful learning
  • Support pupils with reading, writing, and classwork
  • Lead and deliver targeted interventions to support development
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to provide personalised support
  • Assist with behaviour management in a nurturing and positive way
  • Observe pupils and contribute to learning records
  • Develop your curriculum knowledge as the school grows
  • Help shape classroom routines and contribute to our evolving school culture

About You

We’re looking for someone who is naturally supportive, adaptable, and enthusiastic about working with children with additional needs.

Essential
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
Desirable
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant degree
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education
