About the RoleThe successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons that develop students' scientific knowledge, investigative skills, and critical thinking.
Students follow a broad curriculum covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with an emphasis on practical experimentation, scientific enquiry, and real-world applications. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science qualifications while encouraging curiosity, resilience, and a passion for STEM subjects.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through science clubs, STEM projects, competitions, educational visits, and enrichment activities that bring science to life beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
- Develop students' scientific enquiry, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively
- Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
- Support STEM enrichment activities and science initiatives

Candidate RequirementsEssential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Science at secondary level
- Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience teaching A-Level Science
- A specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
- Experience leading STEM clubs or enrichment activities
- A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
