Mechanics Instructor

The School in Coventry seeks a Mechanics Instructor to join the team. The role begins with a probationary period through Supply Star Recruitment, followed by a permanent contract upon successful completion.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in mechanics.
• Teach topics such as engine systems, vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, hydraulics, and safety procedures.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and improve teaching practices.
• Stay up to date with industry developments and integrate them into teaching.

• A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• A Level 3 qualification or higher in Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Industry experience in mechanics or automotive technology.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
• Must have a clear DBS certificate; if not, support to obtain one at a cost of £63.
• Experience or knowledge of supporting learners with Mental Health Needs and Social Emotional/mental health education (preferred).

• Previous teaching or training experience.
• Familiarity with current vocational qualifications (BTEC, City & Guilds).
• Health & Safety certification (COSHH, First Aid).
