PMLD Teaching Assistant

About the role

Justteachers is currently recruiting a compassionate and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a student with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) at a specialist complex needs school in Warwick. This full-time position is set to begin in September 2026 and will run for the full academic year.

The school supports students aged 4 to 19 with a wide range of complex needs, including PMLD, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), autism (ASD), speech and language challenges, and visual or hearing impairments. The setting is committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child receives tailored support and opportunities to thrive. This role offers a chance to make a genuine difference in the life of a student who requires dedicated, individualised care and learning support.

• Provide 1:1 support tailored to the students individual learning plan.
• Support communication, sensory, and physical needs as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.
• Foster a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment.
• Assist with personal care and mobility as required.
• Encourage independence, self-esteem, and positive behaviour.

• Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience supporting children with additional needs or in a care-based setting is desirable.
• Two education or care-based references.
