Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with specialist SEN/SEMH provisions across Stoke-on-Trent that are looking for Psychology Graduates to support young people with additional needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for psychology graduates, trainee psychologists, or individuals currently studying psychology who want to gain valuable practical experience and develop skills that directly link to their studies.
Working within a SEMH environment, you will gain first-hand experience supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, while developing your understanding of behaviour, communication, safeguarding, and positive interventions.
Whether you are looking for a full-time long-term role to build your experience or flexible day-to-day work alongside your studies, we have opportunities to suit your circumstances.
The Role- Support young people with SEMH needs and barriers to learning.
- Build positive relationships and provide emotional and pastoral support.
- Apply psychological theory and understanding to real-life situations.
- Support students with behaviour regulation and engagement.
- Work alongside teachers, support staff, and pastoral teams.
- Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and personal development.
- Has a degree in Psychology or is currently studying towards one.
- Is passionate about supporting children and young people.
- Has an interest in SEMH, behaviour, mental health, or education.
- Has strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Is patient, resilient, and adaptable.
- Wants to gain practical experience within an educational setting.
- Has previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
