Flourish Education are currently recruiting Science Graduates to work as Teaching Assistants, Science Intervention Tutors and Cover Supervisors within secondary schools across Coventry and the surrounding areas
.
Are you a Science Graduate looking to gain experience in a secondary school? Are you considering a career in teaching and want to develop your classroom experience before applying for teacher training? Or are you looking for a part‑time and flexible role that can fit around your existing commitments?
We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Graduates to support secondary‑aged pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. You could be helping pupils with their understanding of Biology, Chemistry or Physics, delivering small-group interventions, supporting GCSE revision or working with pupils who need additional help with their learning.
A range of part‑time, flexible, long‑term and day‑to‑day opportunities are available, making this an excellent opportunity for graduates who want to gain experience in education without necessarily committing to a full‑time position.
There may also be opportunities to work as a Cover Supervisor, providing whole‑class cover and giving you valuable experience of classroom management, lesson delivery and working with different year groups.
The role will involve:- Supporting pupils with Science on a one‑to‑one basis
- Delivering small‑group Science interventions
- Supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
- Supporting GCSE Science revision and booster sessions
- Helping pupils prepare for examinations
- Supporting Biology, Chemistry and Physics content
- Helping pupils develop confidence in Science
- Supporting practical and theoretical learning
- Working with pupils who have gaps in their knowledge
- Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
- Explaining scientific concepts clearly and effectively
- Working alongside Science teachers and wider school staff
- Building positive relationships with pupils
- Providing whole‑class cover where required
- Science degree or related subject
- Strong subject knowledge
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- UK school experience is desirable
- Experience supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
- Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to motivate and engage young people
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable
- Patient and supportive approach
- Reliable, flexible and professional approach
- Interest in progressing into education or teaching is desirable
- £92.59 to £100 day rate, which equates to approximately £17,340 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This Science Graduate Teaching Assistant opportunity is based across the south and east of Coventry and the surrounding areas.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are able to travel to schools in areas including Finham, Binley, Willenhall, Walsgrave, Stoke Aldermoor, Whitley, Cheylesmore and Exhall.
Opportunities may also be suitable for candidates based in nearby Warwickshire areas including Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Baginton and Ryton‑on‑Dunsmore, depending on the location of the school.
The schools we work with benefit from good transport links and are accessible by both car and public transport.
