Are you an ambitious and enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about raising standards, developing the whole child and creating opportunities for every pupil to thrive?

The successful candidate will work as a KS2 Cover Supervisor / HLTA, providing high-quality classroom cover across Years 3–6. A key part of the role will be providing planned cover for PPA and management sessions, alongside supporting the school with short-term teacher absence when required.

• Provide high-quality whole-class cover across KS2, maintaining established routines, expectations and standards
• Provide planned cover for teachers during planned sessions across the school.
• Deliver learning that has been planned by the class teacher or year-group team, adapting delivery appropriately to meet pupils' needs.
• Provide short-term cover for teacher absence when required, which may include responding flexibly to cover needs on the day.
• Establish positive relationships with pupils and create a calm, purposeful learning environment.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, presentation and learning.
• Follow the school's curriculum, behaviour and safeguarding expectations consistently.
• Work closely with teachers and leaders to ensure effective communication and continuity of learning.
• Support pupils with a range of needs, including pupils with SEND and those who may require additional scaffolding or challenge.
• Provide appropriate feedback to class teachers following cover sessions.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of Whitley Abbey and model our expectation that we are proud and purposeful in everything we do.

• Has experience of successfully supporting learning in a primary school.
• Is confident in managing a class and delivering learning to groups of pupils.
• Has high expectations for pupils' behaviour, engagement and achievement.
• Has a good understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
• Is organised, flexible and able to respond positively when circumstances change.
• Can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils across different classes and year groups.
• Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with teachers and leaders.
