About the Role

The children, staff and governors of this happy and successful two-form entry Infant, Nursery and Preschool wish to appoint an experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant to enhance our busy, thriving, nurturing school.

We already have a committed team of teaching and non‑teaching staff and are keen to recruit someone with a love of life and learning and a great sense of humour!

This is a term time only role (including 5 training days) for 28.75hrs TA and 5hrs MDS a week. 8.45am – 3.15pm each day (30mins lunch break) This role will be offered as a Permanent position following a successful 6mth probationary period.

We are looking for a hard‑working practitioner who is passionate about achieving excellent outcomes for all children. The successful applicant will be resilient and a great team player. They will be committed to providing the very best for the children in our school and for the local community that we serve.

We have an inclusive, nurturing ethos, within calm, attachment and trauma aware settings. All adults in our school treat each other and children with respect and kindness. We are committed to the emotional, as well as the academic, development of all our children, with SEMH being a high priority across the school, running through the very veins of our settings. The mental health and well‑being of both children, staff and parents is a constant driving force at Cedars.

The successful applicant will be working within a mixed Year One/Two classroom in the mornings, to support children's development and learning, from an Attachment and Trauma Informed basis. In the afternoons they will support individual and small groups of children with targeted interventions.

The post is subject to a satisfactory 6mth probation period, in the first instance, however the retention rate of staff in our setting is extremely high. Many staff also seek additional professional development, by requesting to work across the Infant School, in order to progress their future career options.

All staff are supported through a cycle of Supervision Meetings with their Line manager, on a regular basis.

  • To competently use clear, grammatically correct spoken and written English.
  • High ambitions for yourself and a commitment to provide every child with the best possible start in life.
  • Able to initiate ideas and put them into practice.
