Senior HW/Device Test Engineer (Infotainment & NVH)

Role

Summary:

We are seeking an execution-focused Senior Hardware/Device Test Engineer to take ownership of hands-on testing for advanced automotive infotainment systems. This role is a critical maternity cover position focusing on active NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) technologies at both system and subsystem levels. The successful candidate will drive test delivery through rigorous validation, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Execution:
Plan and deliver comprehensive test programmes for infotainment systems, specifically targeting active NVH technologies.
Quality Compliance:
Ensure all validation activities align with rigorous automotive quality standards and technical specifications.
Performance Improvement:
Identify system bottlenecks or defects; drive performance enhancements in system/subsystem interactions.
Specification Definition:
Define and apply detailed testing specifications for both legacy and next-generation infotainment components.
Documentation:
Maintain precise documentation of test procedures, rig configurations, and validation results.
Process Optimization:
Continuously improve and automate test methodologies to increase efficiency and data repeatability.
Rig Management:
Set up and maintain complex test rigs and environments for infotainment and audio system validation.

Collaboration:

Work alongside hardware, software, and NVH specialists to ensure a fully integrated system validation process.  Required

Skills & Experience:

Domain Expertise:
Proven background in automotive infotainment testing with specific exposure to Active NVH
Technical Toolset:
Proficient in debugging and analysis using:  
Vector Tools: CANoe, CANalyzer
Network Analysis:
Wireshark, Putty
Hardware:
Media converters, JTAG flashing   
Protocols:
Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols including CAN, Automotive Ethernet (Some IP), and A2B (Automotive Audio Bus).
Audio Systems:
Direct experience with audio validation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) rig setups.

Soft Skills:

Excellent technical documentation skills and the ability to manage test programmes independently.
Licensing:
Must hold a full UK Driving Licence.  Education &

Qualifications:

Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Preferred:
Master's degree in a technical discipline.

Certifications:

Additional certifications in embedded systems, automotive protocols, or audio engineering are highly advantageous
