We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Plug and Play team and help shape the future of water and wastewater infrastructure.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll lead the development of innovative mechanical systems and modular solutions from concept through to detailed design. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to create standardised, repeatable, and efficient mechanical designs that are safe, reliable, and future ready. • Leading the mechanical design process, including specifications, optioneering, and detailed design.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into robust mechanical solutions.

• Continuously improving standard designs based on feedback, risk assessments, and performance data.
• Ensuring seamless integration between product design and site implementation teams.

• A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in mechanical design.
• Familiarity with CAD and digital mechanical design tools (e.g., Inventor, Solid Works, AutoCAD Mechanical).
• Experience managing product life cycles and working with supply chains.
• Strong understanding of H&S, mechanical safety, and risk management in engineering design.
• An innovative and collaborative mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders to drive practical, effective solutions.
• Flexibility to travel between sites throughout the UK on an adhoc basis as projects demand.
