A Coventry-based engineering and prototype specialist operating within the automotive, aerospace and future mobility sectors is expanding its Manufacturing Team. The business delivers premium prototype, concept and show model programmes for forward-thinking global clients, supporting next generation vehicle and transport development.
Due to increased project demand, they are now seeking two experienced Prototype Hard Modellers.
TheJob Role Position:
The Prototype Hard Modeller will play a key hands-on role in the creation of full-size working models, demonstrators and show vehicles.
This Prototype Hard Modeller position is project-driven and requires a high level of craftsmanship, accuracy and the ability to work to demanding programme timelines.
Responsibilities include:
Executing all aspects of hard modelling up to full-size working show models and demonstrators
Building armatures and blocking up forms to specification
Carrying out finishing work to A-class surfacing standards
Interpreting CAD data and translating digital designs into physical models
Working closely with designers, engineers and project teams
Ensuring work meets industry, safety and programme quality standards
The Prototype Hard Modeller will be expected to maintain exceptional attention to detail while working efficiently under project deadlines.
The Candidate:The ideal Prototype Hard Modeller will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in prototype hard modelling within automotive, aerospace or transport environments.
Must have proven expertise in A-class surfacing and finishing techniques, with the ability to confidently interpret CAD data and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and effective communication are essential. The Prototype Hard Modeller must be comfortable working within a professional workshop environment and adhering to safety procedures.
Licence/CertificationRequired:
Relevant modelling or engineering qualification advantageous
Understanding of workshop safety practices essential
Full UK Driving Licence beneficial
