We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global provider of precision engineering and manufacturing solutions, specialising in complex metallic components for the aerospace, defence, and industrial sectors. With a strong background in machining and fabrication, its Coventry site plays a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions to major OEMs and Tier 1 customers across both commercial and military aerospace markets.

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimating Engineer to support the development of accurate and competitive cost estimates for metallic aerospace components.

Responsibilities include:

• Interpreting customer data as received
• Collating customer data into manageable formats to enable functions to support estimating
• Interfacing with customer engineers and buyers for data closure, clarification.
• Launching RFP to nominated suppliers for part costs
• Calculating labour hours related to fabricated parts and machining hours for machined parts
• Working with suppliers for treatments and other subcontracted processes for costs and lead-times
• Collating costs related NRC for tooling, jigs, fixture and engineering hours
• Creating estimating cost roll up files for total cost estimates
• Proposing machines suited to packages of work in customer estimates
• Working with India estimating back office to realise commercial estimates
• Assisting with business case justification and ROI decisions

Required qualifications and experience:

• Previous strong experience in the metallic parts industry in Aerospace Engines, both military and commercial
• Experience of cost database and estimation tools
• Working with Microsoft Excel
• Good communicator with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Practical thinker able to check work by seeing the top level
• Sound mathematics skills
• Engineering / Operations background - preferably in metallics parts fabrication and machining
